How many people does your function room hold?
Up to 110 people but it feels full with 40+ so don’t worry if you don’t have that many friends! Most of the room is standing but we do have seating in the room & on the Terrace.
Can under 18s attend?
Yes they can. If they look nearly 18 they will be given a wristband from the door staff. All under 18s must be accompanied to the toilets by an adult as they are downstairs. Under 18s must not consume any alcohol - if this happens offending/enabling parties will be asked to leave. Please note we operate a challenge 25 policy so guests lucky enough to look approximately this age should bring ID. Children must be fully supervised on the terrace area and brought in after 10pm. Responsibility remains with the Parents at all times.
Do you do 18th Birthday Parties?
Unfortunately not, but Bottomless Brunch is a great way to celebrate!
Is there disabled access?
There are stairs up to the private bar & the toilets are downstairs so it may not be accessible to some guests.
Are we allowed to decorate?
Yes, there are gold hooks you can attach balloons or bunting to but we do not allow blutack, cellotape or pins. We have contacts for outside companies who can provide large numbers, balloon arches etc.
When can we set up?
We normally ensure the room is cleaned, tidied & ready for setting up at 6pm for a 7pm start. Earlier access can be arranged on an individual basis as it depends on any functions before you.
Can we store a cake somewhere?
We prefer the cake to be delivered by you directly to the room but if you do need to bring it in early please be aware that the room can get quite warm. We are happy to help where we can however responsibility for the cake from baking until eating is that of the party not The Libertine or their Staff!
It’s late can we collect our things tomorrow?
You are welcome to move your things into an area & leave them until then next day. Please remember all items are left at your own risk. Please collect between the hours of 12 & 2pm.
What part of the terrace do we get?
We divide the terrace down the middle from the door so that the entrance to your party is for your guests only. Some of the area is covered providing shelter, we also have a photo-friendly live wall. There will be clear barriers to avoid other people entering your party if you choose to sit on the other side of the barriers please do not move them as this encourages unwanted party guests! (If you do see anyone you don’t recognise please let a member of staff know.)
Can we decorate the Terrace?
Unfortunately we do not allow decorations on the terrace as we can’t control the weather & need to keep the area safe for your guests & the public.
Can we have a DJ/Band?
Absolutely! You can book your own or ask us to recommend someone. Please make sure if you book a band that they know how much physical space you have & that your guests are not at the capacity (Bands/DJs are free to visit during our opening hours.) DJs have a designated booth with multiple plugs behind but must bring their own equipment & abide by our noise restrictions. Failure to do so will result in loss of your deposit - please advise them in advance we use a DB monitor & no subwoofers are allowed.
Can I bring my own Food?
Due to our insurance we cannot have outside catering other than a cake. We are happy to provide you with details of our catering options.
I want something different to what you do - can you help?
If we can help, we will! Have a look at our options & let us know what you had in mind.
Can we have drinks on arrival?
We have a number of options to make your party as big or as cosy as you want! From drinks on arrival to silent disco, most options are on our booking form but please speak to your party planner & we will do our best to make your event go with a bang!
I have drinks tokens left over from the party -can I still use them?
Unfortunately, tokens are only valid for the evening of the function to avoid unauthorised alterations & stock issues.
Uh-oh, one of my guests is drunk - what happens now?
We have a duty of care to our guests if someone is intoxicated we will ask them to have a glass of water, get some fresh air & not drink for a while. We always try to communicate sensibly with the party-goer to make sure everyone has a good time but if they ignore our advice or are caught drinking during their warning they will be asked to leave. If they struggle to walk due to heels or intoxication our door staff will assist them down the stairs - they are big guys so this can look like overkill but rest assured they are lovely & very gentle!
Please note we have a zero tolerance policy to drug use & will remove anyone caught taking illegal substances on our premises regardless of who they are.
When do we get our deposit back?
The next day, in the daylight, we will check that there is no damage & that the clear up wasn’t what we would deem ’excessive’. Any deductions will be noted & when you collect your things ask a member of staff about your deposit. If you don’t need to collect anything send us an email with your details & we will transfer the deposit back to you (all being well.) You can request your deposit repayment up until one month after the party date after that due to our accounting periods deposits will be forfeited. Please be aware we are closed Monday & Tuesdays.
